After a certain number of bends, the test specimen is observed to see whether the test specimen cracks and how fast the cracks grow after the cracks are produced, in order to evaluate the bend resistance of the test sole.
The belt flexing machine provided one of the best indications of cracking of shoe due to flexing during
wear . The front part of the sole is attached to a continuous belt which passes around two pulleys ,
the large one provides the rotation while the small one determines the severity of the flexing action
