Test Purpose:

1.Clamp down through the vise or hydraulic pressure cylinder with cylindrical piston , make the single battery or battery unit be squeezed between the two planes. Continue to squeeze,don’t stop until the pressure reached about 13kN. Safety performance of the battery should be examined by squeezing test.There should be no fire breaking out, no explosion during the test. The testing equipment is also essential to the battery manufacturers and research laboratory.

 

2.For the simulation of single battery in process of use, storage, transportation, inspection when it has been penetrated or pierced through sharp objects,which cause the battery internal short circuit.Pierce the center position of the battery’s maximum surface with high temperature resistant steel needle,whose diameter is 2-8mm, at the speed of 10mm/s-40mm/s, and keep it for any time. The battery is qualified by no explosion,no fire.

 

Specification and Parameter:

1.Power transmission mode: hydraulic pressure

A.the single battery is squeezed between the two parallel planes

B.the extrusion pressure of the plane is hydraulic pressure transmission

C.After the battery is firmly clamped, start to squeeze,don’t release until the pressure between two planes climb to 13kN.

Direction of squeezing:

For cylindrical cells, the long axis of the extruded cell should be parallel to the extrusion plane of the extrusion device,

For the rectangular battery, the squeezing pressure should be applied to the axial whose direction is perpendicular to one of the two axes of the battery.Squeeze the other axial next time.

For the button battery, squeeze the plane. Each test battery is only pressed once.
